Chris Leja DMD
Periodontist
Dr. Chris Leja was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He received dual bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and German from the University of Michigan in 2001. He then worked in the auto industry for a few years before pursuing his DMD (Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry) degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
After graduation, he accepted a full ride scholarship to the Periodontics residency program at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health in Rochester, New York. He has worked in private practice in West Michigan since 2013. Dr. Leja is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and he has served on the West Michigan delegation to the Michigan Dental Association annual session. He also served for four years on the board of the Kent County Dental Society and is the immediate past president of the KCDS. He has lead and participated in multiple study clubs and continues to further his education through advanced CE courses every year. He lives in Ada with his wife and two daughters.
Nerissa
Practice Manager/Chief Assistant
Nerissa grew up in North Muskegon. She has a BA in Zoology from Michigan State. She received her RDA from GRCC. While at GRCC she was on the dean’s list and served as class president. She also received multiple awards including the Robert D Mitus scholarship and Maureen Munger scholarship. She has worked with Dr. Leja since 2016. She enjoys learning, building relationships with patients, and ensuring everyone has a smile when they leave. Nerissa currently resides in Ada with her husband, two children, and black lab mix named Izzo.
